Feather Wand Smudge Stick

A little piece of Peak District magic

Handmade with love and a little sprinkling of wild magic, each of these unique feather wands are created using naturally shed feathers from the wild, free birds of the Peak District.

Beautiful pheasant and chicken feathers are gathered with respect, gently cleansed and checked to ensure they are clean and parasite free. They are then bound onto a hazel handle gathered from my own Apothecary Garden.

The magic of the feathers

Pheasant carries the energy of beauty, confidence, abundance and stepping proudly into your own colours.

Pheasant medicine can remind us not to hide our beauty or dim our feathers, but to walk through the world with presence and grace.

With both Male and female feathers bringing harmony.

Chicken brings a very different but equally wonderful medicine. Chicken is connected with home, protection, nourishment, family and the simple magic of everyday life. It reminds us that magic doesn't always have to be grand, sometimes it is found in tending the hearth, gathering together and creating a safe nest.

Together, pheasant and chicken weave a beautiful balance of wild beauty and homely protection.

The magic of Hazel

The hazel handle comes from my own Apothecary Garden.

Hazel has long been associated with wisdom, inspiration, intuition and the hidden realms. Its branches have traditionally been used for divining and finding what lies beneath the surface.

For me, Hazel carries the energy of Awen — inspiration, knowing and the whisper of the land.

A perfect wood for a magical wand.

How might you use your Feather Wand?

Use it as part of your personal rituals, altar practice, meditation or spell weaving.

Sweep it gently around your sacred space, altar or yourself as a symbolic act of clearing and renewal. Use it to direct your intention, fan the smoke from your chosen cleansing herb or simply hold it while journeying, divining or connecting with the plant and spirit worlds.
