Blackberry Flower Essence
Boundaries • Protection • Sustenance • Sweetness • Grounding
Made from the flowers of the blackberry growing around my own garden, this essence carries the spirit of a plant that knows how to hold its ground.
Blackberry brambles form the living boundaries of my garden along with brandmother Hawthorn.
Their thorny stems create a natural hedge, protecting, guarding and quietly declaring:
“This is my space. You may come no further.”
Blackberry is not only about protection.
Within those prickles is sweetness, nourishment and abundance. The blackberry feeds us and can preserved for winter jams amd syrups providing much needed anti oxidents and vitamins. While the bramble provides food, shelter and nesting places for the birds and creatures who share the garden.
Blackberry reminds us that boundaries do not have to make us hard.
We can protect ourselves and still remain soft and sweet.
We can say no without closing our hearts.
We can create a safe boundary around our energy, our home, our time and our precious resources, while continuing to offer sweetness and sustenance to those we choose to welcome in.
This is an essence for times when you feel pulled in too many directions, when your energy is being drained, or when you need to reclaim your own ground.
Blackberry brings the earthy wisdom of:
“Know where you end and another begins.”
It encourages us to put down roots, gather our strength and keep moving forward , even when the path is tangled or challenging.
Like the blackberry, we can find a way through.
